Exploitation and destruction of its habitat continues as the state's attempts to protect the species from the pressure of the timber trade fail. Scientists estimate that if no measures are taken to protect it, the species could become extinct in 10 years.

La explotación y destrucción de su hábitat continúan pese a intentos fallidos del Estado por proteger a la especie frente a la presión del comercio de madera.
