In a world increasingly disconnected from nature, belief in nature spirits in Ghana is a reminder of the importance of maintaining a symbiotic relationship with the natural world.
This photographic series follows the journey of a young man from Ghana who turns to nature in search of truth and as a way of healing.
In Ghana, there is a strong belief in the spiritual significance of nature. It is believed that every river, forest, and natural element is inhabited by spirits or deities that hold power and influence over the land and its inhabitants.
These beliefs are deeply rooted in traditional religious practices and cultural traditions. Spirits are often seen as guardians and protectors of the rivers, oceans, and forests, and are believed to have the ability to bring blessings and abundance to those who honor and respect them.
