Sabi, Soni, Ashmita, Suvechcha, Oshin and Danielle came over for a 'Momo Party' at my apartment. I share a kitchen and bathroom with 3 or more other expats (not sure the exact number because I hardly see my housemates), so I was a little worried when we completely took over the kitchen with our momo making. It only became an issue when my housemate from across the hall came downstairs to check the contents of the fridge and we were completely blocking it...
It was fine through –– I was anxious for nothing –– which is normal when you play host.
Speaking of playing host –– I wasn't much of one. Sabi, Ashmita, Soni, Suvechcha and Oshin grew up making momos (luckily for me and Danielle) and completely took charge and what could've taken several hours, only took two. And their expertise left me quite unsure how to be of a help –– so I took out my camera and practice with the flash that came with my fujixt2. I'd never used it before –– I hardly use flash as it is –– but the low light in the kitchen rendered it necessary.
So while I fiddled with the flash, my 6 guests made the most delicious dinner I could've imagined –– which I will not be able to repeat because I didn't actually pay attention to the recipe. And there wasn't a recipe anyway. Sabi, Ashmita and Soni in particular drew from their separate experiences to create something new. I do know that some of the ingredients were paneer, peanuts, onions, garlic, lemon, tomatoes, cheese, coriander, soya beans...
