I've visited Hong Kong twice and it is by far one of the most magnificent cities i've been to. I've had the pleasure to make many friends there and experience many parts of the city. What I found most interesting there, was not the culture, nor was it the markets or astonishing displays of wealth. Similar to other countries in Asia, prostitution after hours was something not hidden from the public eye. Once the sun goes down and the drunks come out, the girls follow suit and beg for the attention of any man that looks like he has money to burn or has had a few too many drinks that night. I find it very intriguing that in such a large city that is given so much attention, the general public turns a blind eye to what's going on. Women from around the world travel to Hong Kong so that they can work for a few weekends as prostitutes. This is a well known fact amongst locals and seems to be generally accepted, or at least ignored.
