Summary

"Fragile as Glass" among the winning series.

Thrilled to share that I am among the 25 photographers awarded at this year's LensCulture Emerging Talents, with my series "Fragile as Glass". Since the beginning of the invasion, the photo essay has followed the different queer realities of five people living in Ukraine. The protagonists were given questions and asked to formulate their thoughts and wishes. The interviews were then translated and are usually displayed alongside the portraits of Yehor (20), Yeva-Lotta (19), Sasha (22), Sasha (21), and Edward (37). The project journeys between birthday parties in the west of the country to Kyiv Pride activities in the capital, via relatives who still live near the front line in the southeast, showing everyday challenges to intimate moments.

The photos have been exhibited in several off-locations in Germany. The series was later awarded the Residency Prize at the Portraits Hellerau Photography Award. Right now "Fragile as Glass" is displayed at "Helsinki Photofestival".

Currently, a photo book of the story is being crowdfunded, to bundle and archive the documented perspectives. The book will be publicly available in March 2024 at Kettler Publishing House. If you are interested, you can pre-order your copy on Kickstarter: Kickstarter Campaign

What excites me most about this, is that my pictures will be exhibited alongside with the other winning series in New York City next year! I will keep you posted!
