In the past few years I've become very passionate about food. Yes, sourcing, cooking and eating it! But more so, the fact that countless kids in the US go hungry, or are malnourished. That so many people in this country live in food deserts, where they have no access to fresh, healthy produce and meat.
The pandemic has put many social inequities in sharp relief. Food being one of them. The poorest continue to go hungry, and now, the middle class are also at risk of being food insecure. Many are also experiencing the shame and stigma of poverty for the first time.
