'Armonía' exhibit in PHotoEspaña Festival. Círculo de Bellas Artes Madrid (Spain)

Photographer Ana Palacios open on June 1, her exhibition Armonía, within the framework of PHotoESPAÑA at the Círculo de Bellas Artes, one of the main venues of the festival in Madrid (Spain).
A visual story that seeks to bring citizens closer to the realities of animal sanctuaries. From June 1 to September 4, 2022, the Sala Minerva will host this exhibition, the winner project of the 1st edition of the f/DKV Award for photography with a cause, a documentary photography essay that explores life in animal sanctuaries and seeks to bring citizens closer to the daily realities of these unknown places in 60 pieces.
With Armonía, the author wants to show alternative ways of interacting with the environment based on more sustainable ways of life, respect of animals, and the health of the planet as a whole. She also stresses that in these places, such as animal sanctuaries, there is not only a philosophy of environmental conservation but also a new proposal for the relationship between humans and nature.
This project dives into the daily life of Fundación El Hogar Animal, the oldest sanctuary in Spain, and Fundación Santuario Gaia, the sanctuary with the largest number of followers in the world on Facebook, to explore the vision and values of its founders, as well as the stories behind the rescued animals. Both foundations are part of PYMEF, the Spanish Association of Small and Medium Foundations, the seed of this project.
The collaboration of Canon has made possible the production of the exhibition since, in its commitment to talent, has supported the printing of all the pieces on display in the exhibition.
