To give back to my neighbors and Brooklyn community, I hosted an open studio for portrait sessions shortly after quarantine orders started to ease. Anyone- from friends, friends of friends, to strangers - were able to sign up and take part over the course of a week for a small donation minimum of $10. As they walked in, I was seeing and meeting most for the first time. Some had specific ideas in mind regarding how they wanted to be captured, others let me direct and play with shapes and positions, and a few just wanted to experience being in front of the camera for a portrait for their first time.

100% of all funds received from the participants were donated to two organizations dear to my heart and in need during this time: Ancient Song Doulas dedicated to advocay and reproductive justice for communities of color; and The Liberty Fund NYC which works tirelessly to reduce the number of New Yorkers subjected to pre-trial detention.
