Biography

       

Born and raised in suburban Detroit, Lindsay Morris resides on the East End of Long Island with her husband and two sons. Since 2006, she has workded as photo editor for Edible East End and Edible Long Island magazines, where she documents the food culture on Long Island. She is a New York Times freelance photographer.

Lindsay‚Äôs work has been published in TIME, New York Times Magazine (cover story), BBC News, GEO Germany and GEO International, Days Japan, PDN, Marie Claire, Elle, Internazionale and Haaretz Israel and has been featured on photography blogs TIME LightBox, Huffington Post, Vice, WPO, Fraction, Slate/Behold and abcNews.com. She was a 2013 Critical Mass finalist and nominee for the 2013 Julia Margaret Cameron Award. 

Recent exhibitions include The Parrish Art Museum, NY, Fotofest, Houston, TX, solo shows at Clamp Art, NY,  Rayko Photo Center, San Francisco, Outono Fotografico Festival, Spain and the Center for Fine Art Photography, Fort Collins, CO. 

Her monograph, You Are You, which documents a weekend summer camp for gender-creative children and their families, was released in April 2015 in collaboration with Kehrer Verlag and was recently featured on BBC World New. In Spring 2016 Morris produced the BBC / TLC documentary, My Transgender Summer Camp.

Lindsay began her studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and holds a BFAfrom the University of Michigan School of Art.
