My first official view of Kenya. We had flown from a small airport in Nairobi southwest toward the Mara. Our pilot pointed down toward the ground to show where our airstrip was — really nothing more than a dirt track scratched across the rain-soaked plains. All of the sudden he banked hard left and headed straight for a cluster of jeeps awaiting our arrival. Welcome to Kenya.
A trip to Kenya is usually all about the wildlife, with good reason. But if you spend your entire trip gazing at lions and elephants through a long lens, you're missing something pretty incredible. Kenya has some of the best light I've ever shot in, which make taking pictures of people and landscapes an equally unforgettable experience.
