Born in 1990.
I am presently an independent photographer based in Kolkata.
I have worked with Drik India as an in house photographer, image developer and picture library assistant. Drik India was the first overseas branch of the award winning media agency Drik in Dhaka, Bangladesh.I am a drop out when I was at grade 4, and mainly due to the financial reason didn’t have the opportunity to continue my formal education.
But my visual literacy has led my pictures to get exhibited in Indian Museum, Kolkata in 2000, ChobiMela II (Dhaka) in 2004, Delhi Photo Festival 2011, Guardian Gallery, London 2012, Angkor Photo Festival 2014, Alliance Francaise de Pondichery 2015.In 2008 I did my internship for one month at Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok supported by a Norwegian Agency Fredskorpset. In the same year I did another internship for eight months at Drik Bangladesh.On behalf of Drik India I was one of the facilitators for a photography project ‘Eye to Eye’ with the support of Save The Children, UK. The project was 3 months long photography training programme involving domestic girl child workers in Kolkata and at its neighboring district.
For Drik India worked as an assistant in making documentary films for various NGOs like Save The Children, Concern India, Anjali, British Council (Kolkata) and others.
