Marielle Racoma

I am Marielle Racoma, a Filipina award-winning photographer, animal rights activist, and singer-songwriter. For my individual senior thesis at the Ateneo de Manila University, one of the top universities in the Philippines, I created a project called Our Endangered Philippines. This project became a non-profit organization that aims to preserve Philippine threatened, vulnerable, and endangered species through raising awareness and sharing these animals' stories through photography. Our Endangered Philippines won a special recognition award for creative sustainable advocacy at the Ateneo Socio-Civic Engagement for National Development (ASCEND) Awards - which aims to honor undergraduate projects that demonstrate mastery of subject matter while engaging the larger community outside of our university.
