i have never seen anything like this. hundreds of people gather every evening to commemorate the great persian poet hafez. itâ€™s like a pilgrimage site for people of all walks of life. agree to disagree, but when it comes to hafez, everyone seems to agree.

the #sufi #poet is reverred in and outside of iran for his expression of the joys of love and wine whilst targeting religious hypocrisy.

if i were to choose one image to summarise my impressions of iran in a nutshell, it would be this one of kjahju bridge. we were accorded many glimpses into windows of iranian life, each different from the next. they came together to create a larger image of a multi-faceted country, deeply rooted in rich culture and tradition.
