About
LABX is the name of an artistic group that combines the unique and complementary visions of three individuals: a photographer, a director and videographer, and an architect.

Each with their distinct approach after a period of intermingling gave birth to surprising works of art.

YANN RABANIER, 33, PHOTOGRAPHER

His main interest is portrait. His works are regularly published in Le Monde, M magazine, The New York Times, Li- bération, Elle or Télérama.

For the past three years, Yann’s por- traits have been exhibited at the Ren- contres d’Arles photo festival as well as during Paris Photo. He is currently doing research on skin and memory. One of his leitmotivs in the setting up of his pictures is to question how the gap between body and space mate- rializes.

ROMAIN DUSSAULX, 34,
FILM DIRECTOR AND VIDEOGRAPHER

While studying ethnology and socio- logy at La Sorbonne, Romain deve- loped a genuine interest in discove- ring cultures and lifestyles. For the last 10 years, he has been working for major French TV networks such as France Television and Canal Plus when he was based in Montreal, Los Angeles and Buenos Aires. While in these cities he directed international award-winning documentaries. More recently he has been working on artistic projects. His video installa- tion LA 2006 was inspired by five years spent in Los Angeles and is currently on show at the Centre Pom- pidou-Metz for the Paparazzi! exhi- bit until June 9, 2014.

THOMAS CESTIA, 34, ARCHITECT

Architecture has always been a star- ting point for Thomas to explore other fields – stage design, video and graphic arts. While collabora- ting with the Films d’Ici production company for the Architectures series broadcasted on Arte channel, he has constructed a new approach to space that has kept driving on his research and which has made him want to de- sign his own audiovisual objects.

For several years, he worked in ar- chitecture agencies in Paris. Since 2011, he has been teaching in an art school and running his own agency in Bordeaux.
