In today’s era, the media landscape has been changed, to adapt to the new media and technology, I feel the urgency to learn new skills, philosophy, and gather knowledge that can make me prepare, competent, and confident for the service of Photojournalism. I am a female freelance photojournalist based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, the percentage of female ratio in comparison to male visual journalists is not even ten percent. A more female voice in the Photojournalism sector is required to balance not only equity or equality but also empowering the women in journalism is vital for societal development. I am interested in making creative visuals by enclosing facts which is related to human rights, children and women's rights, environmental rights, and daily lives around us. Photojournalism is a wonderful way of communication that blurs the line of hierarchy and helps me to get connected with mass people which is important for me to reflect on society subtly and effectively. I want to use my work to bring attention to societal inconsistencies and to effect change by showing the world. I understand that resolving social and global issues through research and analysis is critical to everyone's well-being. I'm excited to gain new experiences, improve my skills, and broaden my understanding of the world, and I'm confident that investigating visual journalism will help me achieve these goals. The Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award recognizes the significance of visual journalistic work that motivates me to act and compels me to better understand the world. Visual communication is becoming increasingly important in all forms of media production, both online and offline. Above all, I appreciate aesthetics, the philosophical aspect of journalism, and innovation. I aspire to be a significant figure in the field of digital communication and the aesthetics of mass data exchange. It is difficult to make a living as a female professional photojournalist in Bangladesh, but it is not impossible. To overcome these obstacles, I would like to finish a career in Visual Journalism. I am a firm believer in gender equality and quality. If I can pursue my higher studies in visual journalism, I am confident that more females in my country will be interested in pursuing careers in this field. Through my work, I hope to highlight societal inconsistencies and effect change by showing the world. In this case, the Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award will assist me in doing my best in the best way possible. And this award allows me to share my photographic voice with the rest of the world.
