Gloriann Liu is an award winning photojournalist focused on documenting people and culture in the Middle East, Central Asia and South East Asia. Since 9/11, Gloriann has dedicated her work to bringing awareness and perspective of Middle Eastern people and their culture to bring a more positive and unbiased perspective in order to combat or counteract the negative outlook presented by media. A former teacher in inner city schools, Gloriann combined education with photography. She obtained a Master's Degree at the Kansas City Art Institute. She was also a photography teacher at the Magnet School for the Arts, Lincoln Academy in the Kansas City, Missouri School District. Under her guidance, many of her students have gone o to receive national awards and recognitions—something Gloriann is very proud of.
