Prague placed sixth on TripAdvisor's best destinations' list of 2016. Its rich history makes it a popular tourist destination, with more than 6.4 million international visitors per year. The Vltava is 430 kilometres long and the longest river in the Czech Republic. As it runs through Prague, the Vltava is crossed by 18 bridges, including the famous Charles Bridge, a historic bridge (construction started in 1357) that is 621 metres long and 10 metres wide and crossed by thousands of tourists all year round.
In the summer, Prague's weather can become really hot (the record high for 2014 was 37.8°C) and the best way to breathe is to spend time by the river. In the summer of 2015, I was assisting a friend on his project about the adult leisure and recreation industry, and the Vltava quickly became my favourite spot to escape the heat. There, I saw tourists renting pedalos to spend time on the Vltava and see Prague from a different perspective.
