All over one hundred Alpine, LaMancha and Saanen cross dairy goats of Blue Ledge Farm have been brought together in a pen in their barn to be milked. Some stand in line on a ramp leading to the milking parlor. They know they will be get pellet feed in there. The ones wearing yellow chains around their neck are slow milkers and will be connected to the milking machine first in their group of 16 that can be milked at once. Their milk is processed on the farm into different varieties of goat’s milk cheese.
