There is a limited amount of arable land in Afghanistan, and according to UNDP, 80 per cent of conflict is over land, water, and resources. When these limited recourses impacted by climate change (floods, drought and avalanches), food insecurity rises. The population of Afghanistan has ballooned in recent decades, placing even more strain on these limited resources, so the government commits to family planning to control the population.
