Private Story
CIRCUS EL SALVADOR
Every year many circuses come to San Salvador to make a space in the traditional field of the August festivities, which are held from August 1 to 6 in honor of the Divine Savior of the World. This is a great opportunity to earn money.
In the fairgrounds, all the artists live together for several weeks in the hard conditions that the wandering life of the circus imposes on those who choose it. Long days of work until late at night, to make laugh and amuse the people of the capital who seek in that week of celebration to forget their daily problems in the rings of these circuses, which often are only a shadow of what they used to be in another era, in which their lights and sequins used to shine brighter, but the show is tradition, a family tradition that continues to fascinate many in spite of everything.
In 2020, festivities have been cancelled due to the emergency of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). These have been its most recent victim, today there will be no circus, there will be no fairground and the circus artists will not have their annual profit, nor will the capitalians be able to laugh to forget the running of the bulls for a moment.
