Blessing... is inspired by the challenging mental impact of the pandemic, and the miracle of hope in many religions, alongside the deep-seated Chinese belief in the Confucian virtue of filial piety. Produced with digital and analogue processes, diverse media and various cameras, the project included experimentation with different analogue techniques, including film soup, to introduce unpredictability into the results. The series aim to help us push forward with positive energy through times of feeling helpless, hopeless and lost; it aims to create a driving force to get us through them and into a new future.
