Peruvian educator Jesica Jamina Tejeda Huayanay died at the age of 34, murdered by her partner, Juan Huaripata Rosales, on December 22 2019. The attacker killed his two children and the eldest of the family, 14, who wanted to defend his mother from being stabbed. El País, March 2019.
Much of the Cantagallo community in Lima burned down last November. Its inhabitants, indigenous, already suffered from the lack of basic services such as water, sanitation or electricity.
