I've been working on a documentary film and still series about Daniel's Leather. They are one of the last Mom & Pop leather/fur businesses that have survived gentrification on Orchard Street in the Lower East Side, NY. Daniel's Leather is owned and operated by Nadeem Waheed, an immigrant from Pakistan. His store has served the community and celebs alike for over 25 years including folks like DJ Khaled, Fabolous, Cardi B as well as your local stripper and pastor.

It's amazing to see a Mom and Pop shop still functioning like they did 20 years ago, with lay-a-way plans, still using old school price tags and reaching tools, super friendly atmosphere, and working with customers on the honor system.
