In the world, 2.5 million people are victims of the crime of human trafficking. It estimated that for every identified victim, there are 20 more unidentified victims. Human trafficking is a serious violation of Human Rights that most frequently subjects women, girls, boys, and adolescents to situations of exploitation, being the third most fruitful illicit business after drug and arms trafficking.

Several organized trafficking and exploitation networks operate in Ecuador, making this problem more complex. "
Hummingbird Wings" is a non-governmental organization that works on the problem of trafficking in young adolescent women who are survivors of sexual exploitation through its shelter and protection home.

Bird's Nest is a photographic project that tells the story of adolescent women who are currently in the protection house there through therapeutic activities they seek to heal and build their new life project.
