Sep 13, 2022. Manta, Ecuador. At dawn, the small fishing boats sail out to sea for two days to start the fishing days. Fishing is the main economic activity in the province of Manabí.

14, Sep, 2022. Eloy Alfaro, Ecuador. Franco Chere fishermen in the area. It shows the shells that I collect inside the mangrove, collecting this kind of shell is a difficult job. They must look for the shellfish that is hidden in the mud and should be used without wearing protective gloves for the hands. In this way feel the shellfish better and capture it.

Small-scale fishing and aquaculture is a photographic project developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations where the work of small fishermen in the province of Manabí in Ecuador is made visible.

It was incredible to work on this project and to meet great women and men who dedicate their lives to the sea and take care of its resources.

Pesca y acuacultura a pequeña escala es un proyecto fotográfico desarrollado por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Comida y la Agricultura donde se visibiliza el trabajo de los pequeños pescadores en la provincia de Manabí en Ecuador.

Fue increíble trabajar en este proyecto, conocer a grandes mujeres y hombres que dedican su vida al mar y cuidar sus recursos.
