The Uncertain Dream
Edo state which is popularly referred to as the Heart beat of Nigeria, is located in the South South region of the country. Owing to its vegetation, the state is rich in agriculture and also has a rich cultural history which makes it one of Nigeria’s preferred tourist destination.
In recent times, there has been an influx of individuals from the state that are daily striving to migrate to Europe in search of greener pastures often times via illegal routes.
Although the journey is a rather dangerous one, individuals from this state keep putting their lives at risk to make this journey with the hopes of been able to improve their living conditions as soon as they get to their destination.
Uncertain Dream, is an exploration of the motive behind intending travelers reasons for migration. The project aims to explore why a growing number of individuals from Edo state seek to travel to Europe, how they plan to travel and also get an insight into the expectations of the intending travelers as they prepare for the rather “Uncertain” journey ahead.
