Untethered Landscapes: Drift
Drift/Bound: Untethered Landscapes explores the perspective of a disconnect from our physical environment and internal perceptions. Forms are unmoored; we experience feelings of dislocation from each other, our habitat and diminishing natural world. Channeling this feeling state, intervention with the paper print morphs Earth’s topography into unfamiliar, misshaped landscapes that crumple, compress, twist, and tear. Suspended from time and place in an atmosphere of expansion or contraction, the earth turns to sand beneath our feet, the glaciers melt into the oceans. We are suddenly swimming; it is all mutable. Is this a drift towards or away?
