LUX AETERNA-UKRAINE  

Located in Eastern Europe, just north of the Black Sea, Ukraine bordering other seven states, including Russia, Romania and Poland.   Estimated 46 million population is one of the biggest countries in Europe. Before become independence in 1991, Ukraine had a difficult  history: be occupied by Czarist Russia and the brutal soviet regime, and suffer mass deportations and casualties during the Second Wolrd War. The political inestability and socioeconomic chaos which has led to a breakdown the family has been a massive increase of orphans.                                                  

Some children may have added the size of the members of the called social orphans, whose parents left them or they are unable to take care off them.The amount of children wandering the streets have to deal extreme conditions, living in structures such as warehouse, factories, abandoned    buildings or even sewers, the childs are particularly vulnerable to the forced prostitution and the labour and sexual exploitation.                      

Many woman becoming pregnant by the consecuence of the prostitution, and others simply be unable to support their children, abandoned them    when they give birth increasing the problem of the Ukrainian orphans.                                                                                                               

About 200.000 child´s living in the Ukrainian orphans, approximately 80% of them have parents. When they reach 16 age, they just get out of the orphans the most of the times with a minimun education and many deficits, suffered affective disorders. They are not ready to be integrate in the society correctly safety.  About 70% of the child´s finish living by delinquency, drugs or prostitution.
