"Cuban Muslims - Tropical Faith" made it to New York last august, where it was exhibited in the streets of Astoria inside the first edition of the Photowalk Astoria festival. All of it curated, promoted and driven with lots of passion by the great Shaminder Dulai. It was a pleasure joining "this crazy ride": long life to the PhotoWalk Astoria initiative.
"Cuban Muslims" will be exhibited next week inside the program of the Photo Romania Festival. From 16th to 22nd of October, in Galeria Minerva of Cluj-Napoca. Very happy to arrive until Romania, and so grateful to Sebastian Vaida, director of the festival, for his trust in this work.

This is the last exhibition that we will do as a part of the "New Talent FNAC of Photography" prize tour. Murcia, Barcelona, Madrid, Donostia, València, Sevilla. Thanks a lot to everyone that has joined and helped me along these 6 stages, in one way or another.
Cuban Muslims was featured last Sunday in the pages of PAPEL, the weekly magazine of El Mundo newspaper. 10 pages with a wide edition of photos, and a several brief texts together with them. As a photographer, and in terms of graphic treament of the images, this is just great. PAPEL is one of the magazines with larger distribution in Spain, and probably the one with nicest graphic design at the moment. I’m happy and I take this as a very good step.
"Sex and Love with Robots": no longer science fiction. A new photo story I've made recently -about a new generation of sex dolls equipped with artificial intelligence- is featured this month in the Equal Times. A photo gallery and an article full of thoughts on what might be the future of relationships between humans and machines... Read it, you'll be surprised.
Last week a couple of photographies from "Cuban Muslims" were featured in Il Vernedi de La Republicca, together with an article digging into the diplomatic relations between Cuba and Arabia Saudi. Il Vernedi is a weekly suplement from La Republicca. Is the first time I publish about this project in Italy, and I feel happy to continue spreading this special story further and further.
"Cuban Muslims" have been shortlisted as a finalist in the Documentary category of the Kolga Photo Award 2017, organized by the Kolga Tbilisi Photo Festival. Terrific level between the finalists and winners of this year's contest. Congrats to all of them. Is great to see my project highlighted in such a nice catalogue full of strong works.
The work I did a few years ago about the Kurdish Women in Turkey and their struggle for empowerment is being exhibited this month in the Central Library of Santa Coloma (Barcelona). This exhibition is part of a documentary cycle, organized by the Territorios Libres platform, in terms of cooperation and solidarity. Always happy if my work can contribute to educational initiaves like this one.
The multimedia version of "School of Shepherds" that we created together with David Suñol is shortlisted between the finalists of the Santander Photo Festival multimedia contest. Happy for being highlighted among so many great projects.

The "School of Shepherds" project is being exhibited this year in Alacant city as a part of the current PHOTOALICANTE edition. The exhibition is already opened, and will go on until the next 20th of April.
PhotoAlicante is probably the closest photo festival to my hometown, so it makes it kind of special to bring the exhibition there.
Here is a small assignment I did in La Habana last November for Polka Magazine about Cuban kitchen. Short piece, but it was really fun to do it. And as simple as sharing one of my favourites Cuban sweets with the French audience :)
The exhibition associated to the "Cuban Muslims" project continues its tour through FNAC galleries in Spain, and now it has arrived to Madrid. We did a warm opening event last thursday, where I counted with the collaboration of Lutxo Perez and Roberto Villalòn to help me to introduce the project.

"Cuban Muslims" has reached this month the pages of Newsweek magazine! And I'd say is looking good. I feel very pleased with the great graphic treatment, as well as with the piece written by Lucy Westcott.
And of course very satisfied with what this publication means in terms of exposure of the project.
Newsweek also dedicated a gallery online to the work, that can be seen in the following link:
Descobrint Catalunya magazine features this month an assignment I shot last winter for them: a journey through the Valencian landscapes and roads used by the Valencian workers of the now extinct snow Industry.
I did the assignment in collaboration with the Valencian literary author Paco Esteve... such a nice piece he wrote! And I am very satisfied on how is looking in the graphic side too.

"Cuban Muslims, Tropical Faith" started already its tour along FNAC galleries in Spain, as a part of the FNAC's New Photography Talent award.
During october and November, the exhibition was held in Murcia city, including a super nice presentation event that I had the pleasure to share with Mónica Lozano, member of the award jury. Great experience, and I am very happy to see the project in exhibition format for the first time!
This year I participate with an exhibition in the Noviembre Fotográfico Festival, organized by the Fototeca de Cuba institution. I already joined this festival in 2014, and I it feels always good to be part of it.

Do not miss Noviembre Fotográfico if you are in Cuba this month!
"Cuban Muslims" have been selected as one of the finalists of the Emergentes DST International Photography Award of the Encontros da Imagem festival in Braga, Portugal. The prize went to Sonja Hamad for a wonderful project about the Kurdish women who are fighters in Rojava.

I have spent the last two weeks in Crete (GR),where I was invited to join the Photo Residence of theThalori Village project.
In there, I was working in creating archive related to the Psiloritis mountains and its area, under the artistic direction of Maria Choulaki. The residence will continue in the coming months, and I sense this can end up in a new personal project... will be back to Crete soon to continue working on it... Work in Progress.
"El Mundo de los Pirineos" magazine (Spain) features this month a large article about the experience of the School of Shepherds project. 10 pages including a river interview with its coordinator, Vanesa Freixa, a a wide serie of photos from my "School of Shepherds" essay. Happy to continue enhancing the exposure of the project!
"School of Shepherds" is being exhibited these days in La Seu d'Urgell (Catalan Pyrenees), as a parallel activity inside PICURT 2016, the so-called "festival of Mountain Cinema from the Pyrenees". My first time exhibiting photos in a cinema festival, so I take it as a new experience... a nice one!
The weekend of 10, 11 and 12th of june I will be participating in the Utopia Photo Market of Barcelona. El Pais - Planeta Futuro just published this week "Seeds for the Autonomy", a large photo gallery online with a story I did in 2014 about Cuban Agriculture and its struggle to increase productivity. Ecologic production, sustainability, urban gardens and more as a path to advance towards Food Security.
Very happy with how the final piece is looking. A lot of archive was not online before, so good time to have a look, if you are interested.
The gallery online: http://elpais.com/elpais/2016/04/26/fotorrelato/1461673245_401468.html#1461673245_401468_1461674146

La Bordeta is an occupied building in Barcelona to rehouse seven families that were previously evicted from their home. The current work is a continuation of my previous series "The Lab" (2013) about collective occupations as an alternative to housing evictions, that can be seen in my website.
New website is ready. An update of the photo stories I have produced in the last years was necessary and now is achieved. Thanks to the FV platform and the great support I received from Adriana and Graham, the Fotovisura team.
