This picture of my collaborator, James Catchpole of tokyojazzsite, was taken during the first ever Tokyo Jazz Joints visit, almost a year ago last April. As a year of the project approaches, the next five joints will take us over the golden 50 mark, with at least as many left to photograph. As we think we are getting on top of things, inevitably we discover another place either by chance, or through a conversation with a different joint owner.
