Marie Arago is an American photographer whose work focuses mainly on Latin America and the Caribbean. Born and raised in Northern California, she studied cinema but found herself drawn towards the still image and decided to pursue photography. She graduated from the International Center of Photography in New York in 2004.

Marie’s photographic work is focused on and inspired by cultural identity, religion and history. She is also interested in collaborative photographic projects. She is currently working on “Mapping Hispaniola,” a project that uses photography and GIS to map relationships and tell stories about Haitians and Dominicans, as well as her first photographic book, a visual diary of her past five years in Haiti.
