---

An eight-story building collapsed unto itself at floor # 5. According to the next door neighbour, a man who was abandoning his 10th floor apartment that overlooked Sonora 146, the building which a few days ago had 8 floors, at one point had 5 and in the 1985 earthquake it was severely damaged. Owners reinforced the base structure, plastered the visible cracks and set out to build three more floors on top. 34 years later, no reinforced concrete or castles could contain the overweight on a already fragile structure in a swamp land shaken by a a 7.1 quake. Three days ago the final demolition of Sonora 146 took place leaving a giant space in the block and in the lives of those that lost their mother, the only person that was not able to leave the building because she was bedridden as cops and passerbys would comment, was the owner of the building. The flapping curtains miraculously had its own structure intact, as i standed to watch in amazement, i knew it was for sure performing a private dance for me. This video was recorded a few weeks after the quake, on October 6th, 2017.

This footage is part of an extensive documentation that began minutes after it stopped shaking as I took to the streets to document, roaming thru the neighborhood swiftly with my bycicle, as many other humans roamed thru the streets in bikes sharing information and helping in any way possible.
