On the far eastern corner of Bali, a dry and arid region where fishing villages dot to coastline below a large volcano. The villages are close to the water edge where lines of outrigger boats used for fishing Mackerel sit. Fishermen head out every morning in the dark before sunrise in their boats—one man per boat. Just as the sun peeks over the horizon, the women get ready with their buckets to collect the fish from the boats and nets, negotiate the days deals. The women then take the day’s catch to the road to be taken to the city, or walk to the town and sell them. Â
