Jehan Jillani is a photo and visual editor based in Brooklyn, New York.
Currently, she works at The Atlantic, where she commissions original photography and illustrations for the publication’s digital features and special projects. Before joining The Atlantic, she was the lead picture and visuals editor at the Guardian US. She also worked as a photo editor at National Geographic where she contributed to the publication’s environment coverage.

Jehan began her career as a digital photo editor at The New Yorker where she researched and commissioned images for all facets of newyorker.com. She does portfolio reviews throughout the year, and her editing work has been recognized by American Photography and Society of Publication Designers. She has served as a mentor for Everyday Projects and Women Photograph. In addition, she also helped curate Diversify Photo, a database of photographers of color who are based in the United States.
A graduate of Smith College, she hold a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Government. She was born and raised in Islamabad, Pakistan.
