Hello!

I'm a Phd student in the School of Information at the University of Michigan, and I study the (in)visible labors performed by women in South Asia, to care for and support their families, their work as well as their private dreams and passions. I'm extremely interested in unpacking how labor exploitation and subsequently labor rights (with a focus on, on demand gig work-- particularly home and care labors), are unfolding under digital capitalism, and how they intersect with the inescapable, daily labors of love.

As an information and design student with a background in Literature (Undergrad in English Literature) and Social Sciences (Master's in psycho-social clinical studies), I'm very keen to develop interdisciplinary research approaches. I'm also a published poet and fiction writer, and love exploring varied processes of story telling. So far, I have predominantly worked as a part time photographer to cover two separate protests (anti CAA and NRC protests in Bangalore, India, 2020-21'), as well as the ongoing graduate student mobilization in the University of Michigan.
