The gate that surrounds the complex for the structures of the Parliament consists of 31 buildings and a large building with 100 rooms. In this area there is also the city hall, built in Soviet style but with a typical Burmese style roof.
Similar in size and form to the Shwedagon Pagoda of Yangon, the pagoda Uppatasanti literally: peace pagoda was completed in 2009. Its name is also translated as “protection against calamity”, which is also the title of a sutra composed by a monk in the 16th century and acted in times of crisis, especially during the invasions of the country. The pagoda has very few visitors a day.
