A young mother of three children, aged 7, 3, and 1, Khadio took the arduous decision to leave her home in Lower Shabelle, uprooting her life in the quest for safety and survival. Her journey to Mogadishu was an epic one, marked by five grueling days of walking. At the time of the trek, her youngest child was just seven months old, adding to the adversity of the situation. But Khadio, fortified by the love for her children and helped by her family, persevered and made it to her destination, the Khada IDP camp.

Here, amidst the makeshift shelters of Khada, Khadio found solace. The One-Stop Center, a facility funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), provided a semblance of stability amidst the chaos. The Center offered critical services to the displaced residents, offering Khadio a sense of safety and assurance that she had not felt in a while. Their journey led them to the Kahda IDP camp on the outskirts of Mogadishu, where they hoped to find much needed assistance. However, the struggles of this youthful trio are far from over. Their most significant challenges today are the lack of food and medical assistance. The scarcity of these basic necessities has made their already arduous journey even more difficult. Despite these hardships, their spirit remains unbroken. Being in their early years, they carry dreams and hopes of a brighter future. The young friends aspire to obtain technical skills, hoping that these abilities would open up employment opportunities and provide them with a chance at a better life.

But they aren't just passive observers of their predicament. They express their yearning for education and skills training, indicating their readiness to take an active role in shaping their futures. The story of Saleban, Abdi, and Amina is a testament to the unwavering spirit of youth. They symbolize the potent combination of resilience and hope in the face of adversity. Their plight serves as a poignant reminder that much remains to be done. Their appeal for education, skills training, and basic necessities should not go unheard. As they strive to carve out a future amidst uncertainty, their journey embodies a compelling call to action to provide the displaced youth with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
