Un Techo para mi País - A Roof for my Country - Brazil

Series: Children

Tradution: Gabriela Darin

I am a volunteer photographer of the ONG, a Ceiling for my Country - Brazil. And these shots had been able to happen thanks to the work carried through hundreds of young university students whom had decided to embrace the cause to transform this world of injustices into a better place to live in.

Ong UTPMP is an organization founded in Chile in 1997, when a group of young university students, supported by the priest Philip Berríos, realized that they needed to change the situation of extreme poverty where millions of people live nowadays, by building emergency shelters and creating plans of social qualification.

My photos of the slum quarters show the side of the fight, the force, and the beauty of this people that despite the injustices, they endure life and do their best to battle the stigma of being incapable of finding good jobs opportunities, living in the society of consumption, the neoliberal ideologies and the bourgeois society.
