SACRED PLAY

Lugubrious chants of simulated pain involve the city streets, where, since the fourth century, are recreated the last moments of Jesus Christ's life. Easter Holy Week celebrations, in Braga, Portugal, attract tourists and pilgrims to the city, mostly coming from all over the country and from Galicia, Spain. The nocturnal processions represent the high point of the celebration, with hundreds of extras who parade vanity and redemption.
