Good Friday Viacrucis in Catalonia
Summary
On Good Friday, Sant Hilari Sacalm celebrates its Viacrucis
The festivity consists of a procession through the main streets of the town accompanied by some mysteries and lighted candles. It consists of a total of eleven stations. The last one stands out above all, in which the crucifixion and death of Jesus is represented.
In addition, in 1999 this festivity was declared a Traditional Festival of National Interest; Later, in 2010, it was declared a Heritage Festive Element of National Interest and the same year it received the Creu de Sant Jordi award.
Thus, every Good Friday the Via Crucis is celebrated, which fills all the streets with the typical scenery of this festivity. In addition, in Can Rovira, twice a year (once coinciding with Holy Week) an exhibition related to the Via Crucis is mounted.
