Bruno was born in 1984 and he is a Lisbon based photojournalist and documentary photographer.

In 2006 he ended his studies in photography and photojournalism at the Portuguese Institute of Photography.

Since then, he has covered news and stories in countries such as South Africa, Tunisia, Brazil, Ukraine, Poland, Azerbaijan, USA, UAE, among others. His images have been published in several publications such as The Denver Post, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, National Geographic Serbia, National Geographic Czech Republic, NRC, De Standaard, CTXT, Marca, SportWeek (La Gazzeta dello Sport), VG, 6 Mois.

Bruno works as a staff photojournalist at a main Portuguese media group. Alongside, his need and great interest in long term visual storytelling, pushes him towards independent documentary projects reporting social and cultural issues.

2016 – Portraits Series Award at ESTAÇÃO IMAGEM (Portuguese Press Photo Awards) with the project “From Chernobyl with Love”.
2016 – Photo of the Year honorable mention, ESTAÇÃO IMAGEM (Portuguese Press Photo Awards) with a portrait of the Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa.
2016 – Winner of the BF16 – Local Award, with the project “The Condo: consequences of a long-term financial crisis”.
