Life, Death and Magic on the Road to the Isles

The Road to the Isles is a 40 mile strip of tarmac through the Highlands from Fort William to the sea at Mallaig. It's also an old song recounting an enthusiastic homecoming.

On midsummer weekend I walked and hitched the road, snapping daily life as I found it, taking the nations temperature:
