When my mother moved out of Puerto Rico, she left hundreds of photographs inside a box that collect my family's memory. In the bunch were photos that had been left out, abandoned, hidden behind the preferred image, and marked for disposal. This project explores the discarded images of the family album as a dialogue between the function of the archive, the relationships of its subjects, and the possibilities of creating new images of the past.

This project was developed with the support of the Program of Independent Studies (PEI) of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico and is exhibited in the Galería Educativa.
