Bryan Anselm (b. 1988) grew up in Michigan and studied photography at Western Kentucky University and the Syracuse University’s London Centre. He is a photographer based in New York and is a contributor to The New York Times, Time Magazine and The New Yorker. He is represented by Redux Pictures.

Before relocating to the New York, Bryan spent time living in the American South, Europe and East Africa, covering the effects Boko Haram has had on the Lake Chad region (2017), Rwandan Tutsi victims of rape by French Foreign Legion soldiers (2012), the Somali famine and refugee crisis (2011) and the rehabilitation of former Ugandan Lord’s Resistance Army child soldiers (2010). Over the past decade, he has covered the effects climate change has had on small communities across the United States. Throughout 2020-21, he covered the U.S. Covid-19 pandemic primarily for The New York Times.

His work has been published, awarded and exhibited internationally.
