In 2020, a group of Kichwa women came together to defend their territory in the Ecuadorian Amazon from mining,  this is how this collective called Yuturi Warmi was born. Its name refers to a type of ants that are calm, but when they invade their territory they can become tremendously aggressive. Currently, these women from Serena, an indigenous community located on the banks of the Jatunyacu River, in the Upper Napo River, in the Ecuadorian Amazon, with more than 40 members, have organized against all forms of interference in their territory, the contamination of their rivers and the destruction of the jungle.
