Carti Sugdub: The sinking island

This island in the Caribbean is sinking due to climate change, affecting the indigenous community that have lived on it for centuries, the Kuna Yala.This indigenous community will be the first in Panamá to be evacuated from their island due to climate change that is causing a rise in sea level putting their life at risk.  The authorities of Panamá are building a new village that should be ready in the next months, where they will settle inland, a change that is likely to endanger their identity as a indigenous community isolated from the rest of society and impede their ability to share their ancestral knowledge.
