I just came back after an incredible week of RISC Training (Reporters Instructed in Saving Colleagues), which brought us 22 freelance journalists together and taught us so much.
We learned how to make proper risk assessment plans and how to work more safely in hostile environments thanks to wonderful Steve, but we also learned how to save the lives of our colleagues and our own - severe bleedings, CPR, taking vital signs, how to transport people with spine injuries, the chest needle decompression, head to toe examination, how to use an Epi/Happy-Pen and so much more. Thank you Rod, Bill and Sawyer from the Wilderness Medical Associates for everything!!!
I can't describe how grateful I am to have met all those wonderful participants - I got a bunch of beautiful friends from around the world. I wish you all the best for your future, please take care of yourselves...I miss you already.
Chrissy and Scout, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing us all together!!
Please visit the website of RISC for further informations/applications and ways how to donate so that more journalists can be trained (https://risctraining.org) and please make sure to follow them on instagram.
