This series of portraits is from a wider ongoing protrait project documenting the post-Maidan generation across Ukriane with a 4x5 film camera.
These were shot at the interntat (bording school / orphange) in Kremennaya, Luhansk Oblast in Eastern Ukraine after the students' autumn pageant.
Only 30 kilometers from the front lines of the war in Eastern Ukraine, the internat is home to over 100 mentally and physically handicapped children.
The war has placed an extra burden on the staff as they must accommodate additional children from nearby separatist controlled territory. However, the war has also drawn the attention of volunteers from across Ukraine who have begun to visit the children and provide services that Kyiv governement has failed to provide.
