Chief Almir Narayamoga of the Surui Tribe, Rondonia, Brazil

Last year Chief Almir Narayamoga of the Surui Tribe from the "7th September Indian Reserve" Rondonia, Brazil had his Book published in both France and then the USA. It deals with his thoughts, as an Amazonian chief still living with his tribe in the remaining rainforest of Brazil, on how best to tackle deforestation through the protection and enhancement of rights for indigenous tribes in the region. The French magazine Inexploré ran this portrait of mine to accompany an interview with Almir over the release of his book and his thoughts on how whats left of the Amazon rain forest can best be protected. To be sure there is not a lot of time left, if any, to secure this goal. #climatechange#surui#brazil#rainforest#almirnarayamoga#enviroment#portrait#journalism#activitism#enviroment#tribe
