This collection is from a Hospital in Chitrakoot, India that is part of the SEVA foundation. The hospital is called Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust or SSSST and is a humanitarian organization, established in 1968 on the premise of selfless service to mankind. Though I refer to it as a hospital, it is anything but. Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust is a community. A community with a mission of giving 'Food to the hungry, clothes to the destitute and sight to the blind'. A community of hospitals, schools and kitchens that ensures everyone is nourished. A community devoted to providing "˜Education to all' irrespective of caste, creed or religion. A community that works endlessly to strengthen the availability of healthcare services in rural parts of India. This is a group that pushes to raise the socio-economic status of the surrounding communities by employing and teaching their youth. SSSST helps to empower women by teaching them skills to become employable, planting trees every year, providing free cattle care service to spare them from starving, builds relief camps during natural disaster and serving humanity in every way imaginable. SSSST is the largest NGO in the field of eradicating blindness and this particular hospital has over 2,000 beds on a 250-acre campus. One of the most important sections of SSSST is their outreach program. The organization holds camps in the most remote villages to screen individuals and provide transportation to the hospital for treatment. They cater to more then 23 million individuals, many of whom would not otherwise have access to any healthcare services. This program is amongst the largest rural outreach program across the globe.
